Per-diem healthcare shifts booked by bidding. From their own professionals pages: a marketplace reaching over 3,000 facilities and more than 120 markets, for nurses, CNAs, therapists and other credentialed specialties. YOU SET WHAT YOU WILL WORK FOR — you bid on shifts at the hourly rate you want rather than accepting a posted one, and you accept as many or as few as suit you. Credentials are uploaded and kept current in the app. They partner with Stride Health so that people working this way can reach benefits at all. Their own caveat: not all specialties are available in all states
What you need
a current healthcare licence for the specialty you want to work; their sign-up asks your licence status directly
How you get paid
Per shift, at a rate you bid
Requirements people miss
CONFIRM HOW YOU WILL BE CLASSIFIED BEFORE YOUR FIRST SHIFT. ShiftKey's own pages describe independent work throughout but never state a tax classification, and outside reporting has described employment instead — the sources disagree and we are not going to resolve it for you. Ask directly whether you are W-2 or 1099, because it decides whether tax is withheld for you, who carries your insurance, and what benefits exist. Assuming the wrong one is a bill you find out about at tax time — reported, not confirmed

THEIR OWN CAVEAT, and it decides whether this is usable where you live: not all specialties are available in all states. Check that yours is before you invest time in credentialing
